Punyadi Perera is a qualified Notary Public authorised to practise across England and Wales with extensive expertise in intellectual property law and global trade mark protection.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of West London (2009) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Energy and Environmental Law with Professional Skills from the University of Aberdeen (2016). She further completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside a Master of Science (MSc) at The University of Law, in addition to the Notarial Practice Course at University College London (UCL). In 2023, she was awarded the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
With over 16 years of professional experience, Ms Perera has established a strong reputation for protecting clients' trade marks and intellectual property rights on a global scale. From 2011 to 2025 she served as In-House Legal Counsel for Sun Mark Ltd and its associated companies, where she managed and safeguarded a substantial global trade mark portfolio.
Since 2020, she has also worked as a consultant advising FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) corporate clients across the UK, European Union, India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and other jurisdictions. Her approach focuses on delivering strategic, cost-effective intellectual property protection tailored to each client's commercial objectives and regional priorities.
Her expertise covers all aspects of intellectual property law including disputes and litigation, oppositions, revocations, cancellations, assignments, office actions, passing off, infringement matters, hearings, and appeals. She is recognised for providing practical, commercially focused advice, helping clients navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and efficiency.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms Perera serves as an External Examiner for EM Normandie University in Oxford, overseeing law modules.
She is a member of CILEX, The Notaries Society and the CIPD and is regulated by the NRPSI and the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
